Q. CMYK and PMS Colours. Is there a difference?
A. There is a considerable difference in colour between PMS colours and CMYK Printing. Generally PMS (Pantone Matching System) colours will be brighter than colours printed in CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black). PMS colours are best used on High Quantity Printing, when only one or two critical colours are to be used. If you choose PMS colours, colour matching can be guaranteed.
CMYK Printing is the type of printing that will come out of a regular printer at home. It uses a mixture of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black to produce an endless array of colours. Printing with CMYK is generally a cheaper option, but depending on the surface to be printed, colours can not be guaranteed.
Q. Why can't I use RGB Images?
A. This format is for TV and Photo printing.
High Res Images vs Low Res Images:
Images from the Web are low res or 72dots per inch. Printed items need to be at least 300dpi to get a clear quality image. One good photo should be a 2meg file.
