Artwork Specifications
What are Vector Graphics?
Drawing programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Freehand and CoreIDraw create vector graphics. These are made of lines and curves defined by mathematical objects called vectors. Vectors describe graphics according to their geometric characteristics.
What about GIF and JPEG?
Both GIF and JPEG formats are excellent for electronic use only, but not usually suitable for printing.
No Artwork, No Problem.
The Action Ads Design Department can produce high quality vector files from your draft, web images, hard copy or scans.
If supplying artwork:
Best results are achieved using Vector Art, like Adobe Illustrator, EPS or Coreldraw. Supply these where possible.
Bitmapped artwork (JPEG, TIFF, BMP etc) should be supplied at 300dpi at correct scale. Web or screen images may attract additional setup charges due to their lesser quality.
Quark Express files are not suitable. Word files can be used only as a guide to layout or concept, not as printable files.
Acceptable files are: Adobe Illustrator CS, (.ai, .eps, .pdf), Adobe Photoshop CS (.psd, .tif, .pdf, .jpg), Coreldraw 10 (.cdr), Adobe Indesign (.eps), Acrobat Pro (.pdf). Mac users, please leave file extensions in place.
